Saying Goodbye To Summer

While the rest of the world got ready for fall a month ago, here in Phoenix we are only just finally hitting temps in the double digits.

It’s not exactly fall weather yet (your fall is our winter), but there are a few things I can finally do now that summer is ending!

There’s no such thing as a “summer scarf” when the average temperature is over 105 degrees, so scarves are strictly a fall/winter thing here. I love them because they turn plain-jane outfits into something cozy and dressed up in an instant!

Dark lips (and eye shadows, and nail polishes…) feel unnatural in the bright heat of Phoenix’s summers, so the cool nights of fall and winter are when I can finally break out the darker shades. I like matte shades with muted colors that are just a tinge darker than usual because they don’t overwhelm my pale face!

When it’s 107 outside with no clouds in sight, a hot tea or coffee is the last thing I want in my hand.

Yes! The simple joy of socks is gone for me most of the summer, as most Phoenicians live in Old Navy’s $2 flip-flops to avoid sweaty feet! I’m in love with these sweet Batman socks!

What are you looking forward to for Fall?

It’s pretty steamy in NC in summer months too so there’s pretty much no such thing as a ‘summer scarf’ around here either – it’s been nice to be able to pull those out of storage as morning/evening temps have finally gotten a little cooler, cause I really agree that they can add a lot to an ensemble.

Yes! At least we have a dry heat, I can’t imagine living in humidity.
